Water quality monitoring staff, Mr. Newman Diego Nate, of the DENR-Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) – Region I safely conduct water quality sampling activities using office-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) threat.
EMB-I Regional Director, Engr. Maria Dorica Naz-Hipe, initiated the procurement and provision of PPEs, which include washable and disposable face masks, face shields, washable bunny suits, and shoe cover, to all EMB-I permanent and job order personnel to protect them as they go on field work or conduct monitoring activities.
Regional Director Hipe and the whole EMB-I workforce strictly and consistently observe minimum public health standards in the office and during field work such as the use PPEs, physical distancing, and frequent hand disinfection to reduce the risk of infection from COVID-19. “It is important to protect all EMB-I employees from exposure to COVID-19 and one effective way to do so is through proper wearing of PPEs,” stressed Regional Director Hipe.
