The Lupon ng mga Indibidwal na Nangangalaga sa Kalikasan (LINK) of Region I was recognized as top 10 finalist in the DENR-Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) National Game Changer Communities Award on September 1, 2021 through an online awarding ceremony. LINK President Camille Agotana virtually received a plaque of recognition from DENR-NCR Assistant Regional Director for Special Concerns Martin Despi and Ms. Karen Pacpaco, OIC of EMB-Environmental Education and Information Division. EMB-Region I Director, Engr. Maria Dorica Naz-Hipe, witnessed the awarding ceremony.
The EMB’s Game Changer Communities Award recognizes Regional Champions on solid waste, air quality and water quality management, and climate change mitigation. This program also encourages innovative projects, programs, and activities on environmental management.
LINK is a network of environmental youth, individuals and organizations in the Province of La Union. It is a non-profit organization geared towards environmental Action, Conservation and Education with a vision to Build a Community of Young Greens!
Mr. Maynard Cara and Mr. Alberto Sotelo of the EMB-I Environmental Education and Information Unit also attended the said online awarding ceremony.
